I didn't take a photograph today, but you can have one from two weeks ago, when my camera broke. I found something I'd taken on my phone camera instead, it made me happy.

Goblin's first ever show in the UK, absolutely incredible. Credit to J W Robinson for photograph as my camera destroyed the photos. Otherwise, you would have had one of an instrument called an Ud. I saw a guy playing Syrian and Egyptian music on it before he launched into a Black Sabbath cover. Awesome.

Again by Mr Robinson. Supersonic Saturday, saw some fantastic bands - Diagonal, Thorr's Hammer, Corrupted, Zu. These photographs are of Monotonix, who make terrible music but go insane live.

My photographs from Supersonic Festival were destroyed due to a problem with the film I used. Instead, you can have some wonderful photographs from J W Robinson. Although he was probably one of the photographs who annoyed the hell out of me during the festival by completely ignoring the '10 minutes / two songs' guidelines and standing there blocking my view for entire sets, he took some nice photos. Today's photographs are of Sunn O))) making extremely louuuud noise.

Mission to Middlesborough, which was the closest place with a camera shop. New CF card. Start again. Walk round Whitby trying to take as many photographs as possible to replace the lost ones, but of course you can't. Get attacked by a giant wave. Bad mood until evening and eating octupus and crab (mmmmm). Anyway, lots of photographs to make up for the previous few days.

You can't have any of these photos. They were good photos. Photos of the sea and a pretty village called Staithes and a pretty town called Whitby and lots of fun. But although Whitby was pretty, it broke my memory card and one of my camera lenses. I have undecided feelings towards Whitby after this, especially seeing as I walked 11 miles to get there and was rewarded only with broken camera gear and lost photographs. And some secondhand books, which wasn't so bad. So, whilst waiting on some data recovery software that actually works (none do, thus far), photos from these days are lost.

Sod's law.
