Today I went to see Mogwai at Manchester Academy, a venue which, I discovered upon arriving, bans 'professional-type' cameras. There are therefore no photographs, but it was an incredible gig.

This tree is for Dave, who died today, age 21, and who loved trees. I can't quite believe it; I don't think anyone can. But I know I'll see him again one day -

For none of us lives to himself alone and none of us dies to himself alone. If we live, we live to the Lord; and if we die, we die to the Lord. So, whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord.
Romans 14:7-8
